I am relocating to RTP area from NJ and looking for rental options. Providence at Brier Creek is an option that I am evaluating. However, there doesn't seem to be much information available online (apartmentratings.com, city-data.com etc) on this community.

Would really appreciate if the forum members could provide some pros/cons of this apartment community.

Thanks very much in advance.

Thanks jshallen,

Could you (or others) provide more details around comparison with Preserve and Bexley?

* How do the units compare? e.g. better/worse carpeting, appliances, windows etc
* Are there any security concerns? e.g. break ins
* Is management helpful and prompt?
* Is maintenance an issue?
* How is parking situation?
* Is the building / units noisy?

Thanks very much.

Providence is newer than the Preserve and Bexley, so the interior features will obviously be superior. Brier Creek in general does have it's fair share of crime and can't be isolated to one community. I managed a community out there for almost 3 years and saw everything in all of the communites from homicide to assaults, car break ins to burglaries (armed and unarmed). Crime can happen anywhere, but that area does have a higher rate than other parts of the Triangle.

If you're set on Brier Creek, I think you're overlooking some good communities. There are 13 in that area. But it all depends on what you're looking for I guess.

Brier Creek is a magnet for crime and is very overrated in my opinion.

You are entitled to your opinion about Brier Creek but the continued popularity of that area clearly shows a majority of people feel otherwise. With regard to crime, I would be very interested to see crime stats comparing the Brier Creek area to your area of Capital Boulevard. A quick review of the Raleigh Crime Mapper indicates more incidents of crime distributed along Capital Boulevard than the entire Brier Creek Area. While you may feel your opinion about crime to be valid, the facts do not support your conclusion.

Can you recommend some apartments in the Raleigh/Cary area that are the nicest without a lot of crime? I would really appreciate it. I know you said there were many besides the Brier Creek ones. Also, ones that are family friendly as well and convenient to shopping. By the way, I understand there are different apartments at Brier Creek, which ones are the better ones? Thanks!

I have lived in an apt complex in Brier Creek for over a year and haven't seen or heard of any crime problems once. I feel very safe here.

I tend to agree on the crime part - it seems to have a high crime occurrence given the rest of the area.
