Just wanted to share with everyone that since returning to Raleigh I was told about a new pizza place that opened on Six Forks near Newton.
Its called FUHGEddaboutit!

www.bestpizzainraleigh.com

It is by far the BEST pizza I have had here that most closely resembles NYC pizza if that happens to be your thing.
Of course there are many good pizza places here now but this one is very much like NYC. And why not? The people working there are from that area. They have done so well that they are now opening up a place in cary and chapel hill. It was packed saturday evening.
No, I do not work for them nor do I know them personnally, just one happy satisfied customer.

Enjoy!
Ciao!

Thanks for sharing, that's great to know! So, they have the thin crust, greasy pizza. Are they the huge slices too? I know it's bad for you, but you gotta love it! How much do they charge for a large pie? Do they run specials too?

I'd like to try this place too.

To the question above, you have perfectly described Randy's Pizza in RTP. 2 slices and a drink for $5.99, and the best slices I've had in the region in almost 20 years.

If you get the pepperoni, you have to dab the grease off with a napkin. no extra charge. (seriously, a great place.)

Good to know; maybe I'll stop by there if I'm ever in the area. Right now my pizza loyalties lie between home (Tony's off of Glenwood behind Carmax), and work in RTP (Randy's).

This place is excellent. I have eaten there several times since it opened up earlier this year.

PS: You have to have to try their italian ice, it's great!

Went there for lunch today. And yeah, it's the best pizza I've had since I've been down here.

I love and miss boardwalk pizza (Three Brothers or Sawmill in Seaside Heights, NJ come to mind)...and this is actually pretty close to that. The slices are not as big and not as greasy (I can't believe that would be a plus, but it is), but it's darn close.

I'm not as familiar with NYC pizza though...it shouldn't be too much different than jersey.

They've also got a beer tap and italian ice, which I didn't have. But it looked good.

I've had much better pizza believe me. Piccola Italia in Cameron village is much tastier IMO.

Thats a rip off. Their pizza is ok...a little bland for my taste. On Wed you can get a whole Pizza with one topping for $6 at Rudinos. They have the best pizza in the area IMO and best since I moved here from NY. Their sauce is to die for.

To each their own...I'd rather have Randy's then Rudinos' anyday. There is a reason why their pizza is so cheap....

And there's a reason that even after a big expansion, you have to fight to get a table at lunchtime at Randy's.

But I agree, to each their own. I actually wish I had $6 taste.
