I live in the 27610 area code of Raleigh and for the last month or so helicopters have been flying pretty low over my neighborhood. Especially between 9 pm and 5 a.m. daily. Anyone have any insight on why this is occurring? Where are these flights coming and going?
Isn't there a National Guard Armory near there? This area is in RDU's airspace, but the only thing around there I can think of is that I have worked some guard copters in this area. Not that late at night though.
I'm 27529 and I think our zip code borders you. We've lived here for a little over 3 years and she a number of helicopters headed north (your way) daily, at least 2 -3 a day. I've seen them at night too, but don't notice it as much as during the day. They fly directly over my house. Most are dark, military style helicopters, but recently I've seen a lot of white ones. They do fly pretty low. I can't imagine where they're headed, they could be coming from Bragg, Pope, or Seymour Johnson.
