Here is South Durham the Herald Sun has been showing up in our driveway since Saturday. We haven't ordered it and I have noticed that it's showing up in all my neighbor's driveways. Any one else in Durham getting the paper unsolicited?

We get it occasionally without ordering it. I think they sometimes do this to drum up subscriptions by showing us what we're missing.

That is odd... When I wanted the "trial" subscription, I could not get it to APPEAR in my driveway. However, once I made contact with the carrier and told them HOW to get to my house, I've had no issues.

I did end up ordering a subscription... I do not think the Herald Sun has as many features as the N&O, but I do believe it covers the Durham area a bit more thoroughly.

Yes, occasionally. There was another one that used to be delivered more frequently called the Durham News or something that was just as annoying. Nobody picked them up and they just cluttered driveways and streets. They were full of ads and just went straight into the recycle bin.

I remembered that you had an issue getting it delievered so I thought is was odd that they just started showing up at our house. Especially since we are in the same general area. I do like the couple of articles a day about Durham.

PDXmom, we had a major issue with the Durham Herald over this very issue. We got a bill after 2 mos. from the carrier (even though we didn't have a subscription). Called the office 3x, still kept getting the paper and another notice! Called 3x, working the way up the ladder of authority. I was bloody mad by the 6th call. I asked the supervisor to have the carrier call me to acknowledge (after 2mos of this mess) that he understood we had no subscription and to stop harrassing us (at that point it was harrasment). Would you believe he had the audicity to call "to collect" his money?!
The 7th call was a warning that if it wasn't corrected asap, I'd report them (not sure to whom though! ) Anyway--after that it stopped.
I will never subscrip to the Herald for this very reason. I learned from the last person I spoke with that once we were in the "system" (from an old subscription years before) that our address kept appearing on their tape. This seemed odd, b/c we hadn't been getting the paper until they started doing a "promo" (driveway drop offs). That's when all the problems started.
Obviously a miscommunication, but it was 2 months of a hassle I wouldn't want to go through again to get it stopped.
