My wife and I made the trip from our North Raleigh home to Pittsboro. The drive took about 50 minutes and very easy. I enjoyed the view when we drove over Jordan Lake. Thanks to the many great suggestions by members on this forum, my wife and I had some good ideas on places to go once we got to downtown Pittsboro. Here are a few pictures from our trip. I also have a few pictures from our stops at nearby Fearrington Village, Chapel Hill, and Carrboro in a separate thread so as not to overload this post with all the pictures. Those pictures can be found here.
Chatham Marketplace (Food Co-op) (website)
(Great locally grown organic food. The day we went there were srudents from the BTI Massage Institute providing free 15 minute chair massages on on the front porch!)

As always, NRG, very nice photos. Thanks for the nice town tour! I liked the photos of the Soda Shoppe; I recall someone posting that this place has the best milkshakes, too!
Pittsboro is my hometown. It has changed so much during the years. The general store actually moved into an old auto dealership. I have never been to the Soda Shoppe. The food co-op is in the mill where some of my family members used to work back when textiles was #2 behind tobacco. I enjoyed growing up in Pittsboro, most of my family still lives there.
Thanks NRG! My husband and I just moved to the southeast side of Lake Jordan from Raleigh, and enjoy the drive into Pittsboro for some laid back southern culture whenever we can......
I still can't believe it's dark at night when you turn the lights off. Who knew?
What a wonderful area of the country we live in where we can choose to live in rural america and still be close to so many wonderful cities and what they have to offer.
Hi NRG, your pictures are great. Would it be OK if I used some of your pictures in my online newsletter about Pittsboro? I would give you credit for the photos. Please let me know. thanks so much.

By the way, I would love to see your newsletter when you put it online to learn more about Pittsboro. Could you email me a link to it at North.Raleigh.Guy@gmail.com
Thanks so much for all the pictures. Looks like a cool town (still thinking where to go) so it's great to get a "feel."
