Hello,
Is there anyone that might have information about inexpensive hotels/motels to stay in and car rentals. I plan to visit from 4/1/07- 4/6/07 and I have the whole week to site see and explore jobs and apartments.

Well, i stayed at a best western on capital blvd. Reserved it from expedia.com and got 2 king beds for 49 a night, it seemed pretty convenient to everything, about one block from the interstate. Had free wireless internet, continental breakfast.. service was fine.

There's a Days Inn in downtown, which is both affordable, and a great centralized location to see the entire city from.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn off of Glenwood/70 right near the Crabtree Mall. We paid $89 a night. That included free breakfast. The loaction was nice and convenient for us.

we found that the DAYS INN in Garner was affordable plus we had access to Clayton (which is the town we decided to move to) and Raleigh. traffic can be a hassle in and around Raleigh during rush hr so try to avaoid those hrs.
I grew up in S.Philly but have lived in the south now for over 20 yrs.
I can tell that the people here say hi to you and are very polite and helpful. this is something that is not common in all places. we opted for the small town of Clayton, just s.e. of Raleigh because we wanted the quiet atmosphere but the convenience of the city nearby.
have a good move, Lynn

I would suggest using Priceline.com to put a bid in for both hotel and car rental - generally I find it best way to get great rates
