Can anyone give me some advice to help me narrow my search?? We are looking to buy a home in the 400-500k range in cary/apex or holly springs. I would like to have trees in my neighborhood-- I don't need tons of trees, just don't want to drive into the development and see houses with a few just planted baby trees. I would love new construction but would also buy something a couple of years old too. The lot size doesn't need to be too big but I wanted about 3400 square feet in the house. I also, and here is the tricky part, need to be closer to route 1 so my husband can get to sanford within 35 minutes. We will be coming down for 2 or 3 days mid january to look around and any help in narrowing our search would be great.
We used to live in apex, but now I think it is annexed into cary, but one of my friends husbands commuted to sanford and it was about 30 minutes. We lived just off of ten ten road. Our development was glenmitt stone (which would not have homes as big as you need), but cotswold (a john wieland neighborhood) does. There are trees, but not as many as you would think! Holly springs, I would look in sunset ridge (you may find an older home, but it is a great neighborhood with lots of trees, wonderful amenities - pool, tennis and golf) and definitely in your price range. Sunset ridge was close to our house, and probably within 8 minutes of us 1 (if not less) and then your husband would just go down us south (against traffic) so it would be easy.
Anyhow, PM me if you have more questions. It can be very confusing!
Cotswald is a Centex neighborhood, I think. Windermere is the John Weiland neighborhood and is directly across the street from Cotswold off Kildaire Farm Rd. About 5 minutes to US1 down Ten-Ten Rd.
Can anyone tell me where I can get more information about the John Weiland neighborhood-- Windemere?? I couldn't find anything much when I googled it. thanks.
You're not finding much on the web because it's built out - currently, there are 3 homes listed, from 425k to 574,999. Also, check the spelling: Windermere, just in case.
