She and Charlie Gaddy were one of the first male-female anchor teams in North Carolina. Though our family preferred Channel 11 and whoever they had at the time (I want to say Jim Sughrue?), I respected both of them as broadcasters. RIP to a pioneering broadcaster.

I remember Jim Sughrue anchoring with WTVD at some point, but I get the timing mixed up with Larry Stogner. Sughrue left to be spokesman for RPD. Stogner died a few years back.

it was rather amazing at the time - came outta nowhere, became the anchor, plucked by CNN when they were a startup/growing rapidly.
