is on TCM right now, and I'm sure on YouTube.

All of you young families in Johnston County should become familiar with this Hollywood beauty

from Grab-town (I think) near Smithfield. She was stunning!

Here accent was so thick when discovered, people could hardly understand her.

She always wanted to give her children the stable upbringing she had in Johnston County.

I would attach a photo but photobucket has just started charging monthly for 3rd party hosting.

I need another free site to continue sending photos.

THE BAREFOOT CONTESSA- the movie (not the Long Island cook).

My mom used to deal with a woman who sold antiques down that way whose husband was Ava's cousin. They had so many family photos on the mantel in their house. It was pretty cool. I was little at the time and it didn't really resonate with me until I was older that most people didn't get to see those photos of such a public figure. Way cool.

Ava Gardner Museum | Smithfield, North Carolina

It's in Smithfield, and it's actually pretty cool.

When I saw Jkgourmet chime in I was sure we were talking about Ina Garten, the other "Barefoot Contessa".

That's the best laugh I've had from CD in a very long time (which is saying something given the number of goofy posts we get - particularly in the real estate boards).

Thank you - insert blushing emoticon here.
