Are there any safe running trails in North Ralaigh? I met a couple of ladies in an exercise store in any they did not recommend running alone around most of the city. Is that true? Can you recommend some good spots to run during the day?

Try the pathways that circle Lake Lynn or Shelly Lake.

Several running groups meet at Shelley Lake. My wife did a womens running group that met every Saturday morning at 9 (nc roadrunners) and I'd tag along and run solo. If you are worried about running solo, there are plenty of running groups in the area. In addition to nc rr, lady godivas is another popular one.

I've never been to Shelly lake so it may be nice, but I recommened the trails around lake lynn. Lake lynn in simply beautiful and it's about 3 miles around if I'm not mistaken? I'm sure there are plenty other trails to choose from in North Raleigh. Good luck with your search.

Here is a link to some good links to search for local running trails. You might have to dig a little...
