Capital Bank’s top executives have been in Charlotte a while. CEO Gene Taylor and CFO Chris Marshall are former Bank of America executives who have long called the Queen City home. Now it looks like the rest of the bank will call Charlotte home, too.
A source close to the matter says Capital Bank executives recently said the bank is moving its corporate center to Charlotte.
Posner did not respond to requests for comment for this story.
The same source said Capital Bank still has a lot of time left on its lease in Raleigh and would probably keep employees in the Triangle.
The headquarters move would make Capital Bank the largest Charlotte-based bank in assets behind Bank of America Corp. Capital Bank had $1.77 billion in North Carolina deposits and $6.98 billion in total deposits, as of June 2015.
