Hi,

Does anyone know any bakeries that would bake a Star Wars themed cake? I know that many bakeries are concerned with copyright violation... Maybe someone actually has rights to use Disney/Lucas images or themes...

Thanks!!!

Sugar Buzz Bakery has done a really cute R2D2 cake ... look them up on Facebook and look on the photos page.

It'll be pricey though. Their plain cakes are expensive, and this one involves sculpting and lots of fondant work.

In Florida we used to get themed bday cakes from Publix. Their buttercream frosting is the best.

A lot of the markets have the kits that they use for cakes- if you are looking for an inexpensive cake. I believe the quarter sheet cake at Publix is around $30. I would call Publix and Super Target (maybe Lowes) to see if they have the kit for State Wars. Not sure if they make one. If they make one, Amazon might have it if you have time to purchase. Also, check Costco if you are a member.

Otherwise, Sugar Buzz cakes are amazing!

I got a Batman cake at Target (super Target in Apex) last year and was amazed at the different options. As NYCANC said, give them a call. The price was reasonable.

You can get edible cake decorations that can be placed on top of a cake. Combined with a cake topper, it makes for a nice looking display. We did this for my son's birthday several years ago. Something like these:Star Wars Edible Image Cake Decorations. Even if you don't want to do this yourself, many places that make birthday cakes will add the image to the cake you buy.

I wouldn't think it would be a problem. There are lots of Star Wars cake pans out there (Target, Walmart, etc), too, if you want to mix up a box of Betty Crocker and make your own.

If we had a Publix in NW Raleigh I would still get my cakes there. Their bakeries are great!
