.....Capital OBGYN, Mid Carolina OBGYN or Wilkerson OBGYN. My doctor refered me to any of these offices but did not give me the name of any specific doctor within these practices. Does anyone go to any of these? Can anyone recommend a specific doctor? Thanks!
My doctor was with Blue Ridge, but she just started her own practice at the beginning of this year. I really like her, but one thing to consider is that her new practice is GYN only. That is fine with me because I don't plan on starting a family just yet, but it is something to consider. Feel free to PM me if you would like her info.
I'm sure there are some quality doctors at Blue Ridge OBGYN, but the practice itself is poorly run. Specifically, the office on Durant Road. The one on Blue Ridge may be better, but I wasn't willing to try it. I've run into several people that had a similar experience (long wait times, rude staff/nurse assistants) so I know it's not just an isolated incident.
I started going to MidCarolina at Rex and have seen Dr. Ruth Wind. I was impressed with the friendliness of the doctors and nursing staff despite the practice's large size. (I'm partial to one day delivering at Rex)
I've heard great things about Blue Ridge as well, but they do not take my current insurance. I have friends who see Dr. Michelle Homeister and rave about her.
I go to Capital OB/GYN. Several of their doctors practice GYN only, I think that is good once you are past the OB stage.... I would suggest googling and checking out their webpages....
My experience with the Blue Ridge Ob-Gyn office has always been very positive. I went through this office when I had my baby and the doctors and nurses took very good care of me. I was satisfied with the care given and their compassion for working with their patients. I adore the friendliness of the staff.
Dr Homeister is great and she was wonderful with me after my m/c, but I do have to say that some of the staff are rude and waiting time has been hit or miss. Overall satisfied though. Oh, I went to the one off of Durant Rd.
I just received a bill from Blue Ridge OBGYN. They charged my insurance company for a visit that never actually occurred and sent me a 'past due' bill for the remaining amount. I had an appointment set that day, but they did not end up performing the exam. On top of being disappointed with their service, now I have to go through their billing department and insurance company to reverse the charges? Boy this is the gift that keeps on giving...
Went to Ruth Wind at Rex and was SUPER happy with her and the staff. They are a very busy unit, but Dr. Wind gave me all her time as if I were her only patient.
I also go to Mid-Carolina (Dr. Teasley). I was referred by a friend who sees Dr. Wind. She loves Dr. Wind. I didn't need an OB, so I picked Dr. Teasley (she only does GYN) and have been really happy. The practice is really large, but everyone was friendly and helpful.
