Just wanted to share that we've had TWC for 1 1/2 years here in Clayton without so much as a hitch (other than a few times during storms that they rectified quickly). The email problem started last week for me and may very well be unrelated to TW but since others mentioned an issue I thought maybe there was something to it.

Compared to Verizon, I am VERY happy with TWC.

All things considered, I've also been pleased with TWC. At least for around here with the speed given for the price, I wouldn't rate anything else as being more dependable for less service interruptions or a better deal.

But I do think there is a tendency to think that the grass is greener on the other side. Especially when you notice that other people aren't having service interruptions when you are, although they generally do at other times.

I don't know if Verizon has FIOS service available in Durham area yet, but you should inquire about it. If so, thats the service to go for ...

Anyone else tired of slow upload speeds with TWC? When are they going to give us some decent uploads? Nearly the entire rest of the country can get uploads over 1 mb/s and here I can't even break .5 mb/s.

It's so incredibly frustrating when uploading photos to smugmug or something to have it take hours. I'd like to get an online backup service like mozy.com going but in order for that to be tenable, I'd have to have something not pathetic.

I hate TWC. I wish there were some alternatives in this area. (How is it that we have the highest per capita Ph.D. concentration in the country and we have such pathetic bandwidth?)
