Advice: Moving from OK to Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill (Cary: affordable house, where to buy)

Hi All,

My family and I are relocating to the area for my job. I need advice on where to buy a house. Here are some specifics:

Work: RTP-Near intersection of 40 and 147
Family: Wife and 2 kids (6 and 11)
Schools: Public
Activities: Love to be outdoors and involved in the community
Housing Budget: 300k max, single-family home
Commute: 30 mins max

It would be hard to go wrong anywhere in Wake County: Morrisville, Cary and Apex are close. I suggest sticking with Wake County for schools rather than Durham or Chatham County. Chapel Hill also has great schools if you can find an affordable house.
