Purdue Pharma Manufacturing LP, the Connecticut pharmaceutical company that makes OxyContin pain relief medication, formally announced on Wednesday it is building a new plant in Durham; the company will invest $59 million and hire 100 workers over the next three years.
Salaries at the Durham County facility will vary by job function, but the average annual wage for the new jobs will be $70,199 plus benefits. The Durham County average annual wage is $66,602.
