Does anyone know where I can buy beer that needs to be sold, normally seasonal beers need to get sold before they expire. I'm new to the area and I can't seem to find this good but super cheap beer in the area.
I don't know of any place in Durham or Morrisville, but Peace Street Market in Raleigh often has exactly what you've described. They had Sam Adams Summer Ale for $3.99/6-pack last time I was in there (which was yesterday). They often have six-packs for $3 or $4 at the end of each season, though they're often some beer you've never heard of. Their sale beers are usually up front by the register, and sometimes they have a whole pile of them. If you're in or near downtown Raleigh for any reason it may be worth checking out.
I've seen beer on sale at Triangle Wine in Morrisville (corner of Davis and McCrimmon). As a previous poster said, it's usually something that has not sold well and they are just unloading it. Usually it's up front by the doors and cash registers.
Seconding Sam's Quik Shop. Their clearance section is at the end of their alley of reach-in fridges (the section of the store where there are fridges on both sides). You can usually find 12-packs of "going out of season" beer for $4-6.
Excellent. I'll give this Sam's place a try. Driving all the way to Raleigh would defeat the purpose of the savings
