Trying to get a handle on some upcoming expenses. What can I expect to pay for these services. Two adults normal water usage minimal watering of a very small lawn area. Property is less than 1/5 of an acre the home occupies quite a bit of that.
I am also curious what I can expect to pay for garbage pickup. Home is located within the limits of the City of Durham.

Our two-person household pays about $70 bi-monthly for water/sewer, and a few extra dollars for optional yard waste pickup. Our lot is smaller (about 1/10 acre), though, and we only water a few flowerbeds, not the lawn.

Regular trash and recycling collection by the city is funded through property taxes, so there's no separate bill for that.

I think I pay about $35-40 each billing cycle. That's for one adult, typical usage, no lawn watering.

I believe garbage and recycling pick-up is included in your taxes within the city limits. You will pay separately for yard waste collection (about $60/year), if you want it.

Thanks. Doesn't seem to be too terrible at all.

Most residential meters in the city are still read and billed bi-monthly, actually. I still get a bill every other month.

Either way, it seems like about $35/month (or $70 every other month) is about the norm for one or two adults!

We pay about $70-80 bucks bimonthly for my wife and I. Billing is easy if you can remember the account number. No option to have a login/pw.

I dont see where it says 'most' are bi-monthly. Ours switched to monthly a few months ago. I called and asked at Durham One Call and they said everyones will be switching in phases...
