Has anyone had a good experience with sod installation in the area? We're looking for recommendations for a good affordable company .

Tony Woolard 919-906-6131 - very reasonable (like half the other estimates we got) - but basically works alone with another guy so he gets busy. He'll tell you what kind is best for where you live and go from there.

I second Tony Woolard. He did a great job for us two years ago and the lawn (with proper care and nourishment ) still flourishes. He runs a simple operation. He just tends to be a bit chatty.

If you are looking for zoysia or Bermuda sod installation, you may get frustrated right now. This is absolute prime season for warm season grass installation with the end in sight in 5 weeks or so, and the guys are slammed.
If you are looking for fescue sod, you should wait a few weeks and try to book late summer into fall.

I used Green Level for zoysia and they did OK.

My issue isn't getting in touch with people. The issue is that I can't find anyone who does it around here.

Well, where do you live?

We had our sod installed in August and it was fine. Plenty hot enough into the beginning of Sept.

This guy didn't install any mulch for me, but did a lot of hardscape/landscape work for me last year. Last time I talked to him he was very busy installing sod. John : NCMulch 919-802-7666
