JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is have a Derby for Diabetes at West End Wine Bar in Durham Saturday.
Derby For Diabetes

https://www.facebook.com/events/373428596099020/

The party starts at 4 p.m., a couple hours before the horses post at Churchill Downs; Plenty of time for a few rounds of mint juleps and bar-games and prizes to raise money for JDRF.

Before the race, you’ll want to enter our Run for the Roses raffle, too. When you buy a raffle ticket, you’ll be able to wager it on your favorite horse, and if they win, place, or show, you’ll have a chance to win one of three excellent prizes!

So take your boat shoes and bow ties, seersucker and sundresses, and — of course — your most elaborate Derby hat out of storage. There will be a prize (more prizes!) for the best dressed lady and gentleman, so be sure to don your Derby finest.
