Hello Everyone,
I'm going to Duke for graduate school in the fall, and I'm not impressed with what Durham has to offer, especially off-campus housing near Duke. I'm particularly concerned about safety, and I've used the Durham crime mapper as a way to find out which places are risky. I'm hoping to find a studio or a 1-bedroom apartment not more than 500-600 a month (ideally...). I'm even considering living in Chapel Hill and commuting to Duke. On that note can anyone comment on the following:
-Recommend a few apartment complexes that are in Chapel Hill (or any safe city near Duke) and not too far away from Duke?
-Anyone know about Estes Park apartments or Ridgewood apartments...are they safe and are they of decent quality?
-Is University Commons at Duke safe? The crime mapper shows some crime going on in that area, but I want to know how people actually perceive it.
