Don't miss the NC State Fair
North Carolina State Fair ~ seriously twisted fun! (http://www.ncstatefair.org/2007a/ - broken link)
Imagine going to the State Fair all dressed up. I have been going to the fair for over 20 years now, and wouldn't think of missing it. I go home with the worst stomach ache from eating all of the stuff, but I do it over and over again every year. See you at fair.

avoid the petting zoo to avoid a risk of possible exposure to E coli. that happen to many in a previous year at the NC state fair.

At the end of October 04 the state health department received reports of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS, a condition that causes severe anemia and kidney damage) in three children who'd visited the petting zoo. Local health departments later reported 108 cases of diarrhea (most in children) close to the time of the state fair, and 78% of the ill people had visited the state fair petting zoo. Almost 20% of them needed hospitalization for their illness, which included symptoms such as bloody diarrhea and fever.

Fair's kinda fun but can get a bit boring if you go every year.

We used to live across the tracks from it and spent too much time there counting fair + flea market.

Might try again one time.

I went to the state fair for the first time last year Sunday morning when is POURED buckets!!!! And this was my first ever expereience being at a real state fair! Being from metro-Boston this was quite a shocker for me! And I had a blast! My boyfriend laughed at me the entire time (he's from Ohio and has shown everything from tomatoes to goats). The animals were by far the best part

This year I think we'll try to make it to more stuff, I can't wait!!! Another reason I just love being in North Carolina!

I am dragging my husband to see Paula Deen. You can be sure he's thrilled.

I just noticed that her show has sold out.
