Hi,

I like a few places up for rent in this neighborhood.

Does anyone here knows how this neighborhood is in terms of safety, raising children and if it is lively or a quiet type ?

Thanks!

Are you referring to the townhome community off Weaver Dairy Road in Chapel Hill?

If so it seems like a perfectly fine neighborhood in a nice area. I would describe the area as quiet and stable.

Doesn't seem to have any data for the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area.

Yes CHTransplant, I am referring to that area only.

Would you know if it has lots of families with children?

Thanks!

Certainly lots of kids in the neighborhoods around there. I'm not sure about Vinyard Square itself - I only know one (childless) couple that lives there.

Default Southpoint Terrace Neighborhood ?

Hi

In my ongoing search for a 3 bedroom, I have come across a few proerties up for rent in this neighborhood.

I like the fact that it is close to shopping area.

Can someone tell me if you have to deal with a lot of traffic if you coming from Duke west campus towards Morrell Lane, 27713?

Is this a "families with kids" area?? I have one, so

Thanks a ton all of you for your help so far!

I promise to put all the inputs I got in one place and share with others once I am done with my search!

Thanks again!

I live very close to Southoint Terrace. I don't see as many kids in the townhouses like I do in the neighborhood behind it. I think it is more because it's a townhouse community which attracts less families than a single family home. There is a playground in the apartments right next to Southpoint Terrace. You are very convenient to Target, the mall, I-40, etc. I would assume you would be taking back roads from Duke over to Southpoint? There isn't a ton of traffic unless you take 15-501 to I-40 or 147 to I-40.

As for the traffic, I personally find that going the highways (147 or 15/501) is faster than the secondary roads to get from the Southpoint area to Duke. You can run into some bumps here and there -- for some reason 147 has been backing up more mornings than not lately -- but overall you're still talking about a 25 min commute. Welcome and good luck!
