My son is 7 and has competed in a YMCA basketball league. He would like to play in a more competitive league. Outside of the city run league, is there a privately run league in North Raleigh?
Try elevatebasketball.com The coach is very nice and runs a few AAU leagues. My son play with the coach year round and participates in his development leagues. Feel free to PM me if you want additional information.
Try North Carolina Elite AAU Basketball. Tryouts this weekend! Visit www.ncelitebasketball.com or contact at clinton_dubose@ncelitebasketball.com
Hello,
I am looking for a basketball league to put my daughter in for the summer where she can learn the fundamentals of basketball. She is 5 years old and very eager to learn to play to sport. She knows how to dribble and shoot pretty well and with some coaching she would be an access to someone's team. I prefer the Raleigh area to be convenient for travel.
I'm new to Cary NC. My daughter is a July Bday - just turned 10 and entered teh 4th grade. She excells in basketball, and I'm looking for a competitive league for the Winter. All I see on line is Upward, or YMCA.. Are there other competitive options?
So I've been running a google search on NC basketball for youth...not really liking what I've seen so far
just wondering if anybody could add to this thread?
I'm looking for a youth league for the spring/summer. I have 2 boys, one that is 10 and one that will be 7 in March.
Any leagues would be good, but I'm really looking for one where the coaches teach individual development more so than just looking to win (the league I have them here in the DC area is like that and it sickens me).
I've seen some of the aau sites..not really a fan of aau basketball...
Also, if anyone knows of any christian leagues in the area, that would be perfect.
I coach 10-12 year olds in the summer here in MD (my focus is on individual skill development, which leads to team success. That's why I get so frustrated with coaches who only want to win. They're just kids, teach them the game first instead of having just 1 or 2 stars on your team!), but since we'll be moving to Cary in March, wanted to get a head start. I know spring/summer leagues start organizing around this time of year.
Thanks for any help/updates to this thread that anyone can provide.
There's a youth church league, not sure about the details as we don't participate. However my son has played in the City of Raleigh league (he's now thirteen) for two years and it's been a good experience. There's also a Wake County league that our former coach has recommended.
