I thought it might be nice to start a thread that would introduce us to cool, locally-owned gift shops that we might not already know about. I know a few in my area (i.e. Pink Alli), but I have a list of teachers, neighbors, friends, workmates, etc., for whom I'd love to find something unique. I'm looking for inexpensive-ish, but maybe a price range would help those still out there shopping.

I mentioned Pink Alli, and I also like to shop the Write Image in Cary for seasonal gifts and nice stationery.

Ok so... 10,000 Villages isn't exactly local but an awesome cause to shop for AND they sell the most beautiful things! Ten Thousand Villages - Home page

Also, gift certificates to local businesses (restaurants, services, etc) would be a great gift. I wish someone would get me a gift certificate to our cat's groomer lol!

Just wondering...would "independent" retailers ( meaning not a chain store or franchise) be okay to incclude? Don't want to clutter your thread with unwanted info...

NOFO at the Pig on Fairview Road in Five Points.

The Shoppes at Baileywick (I think that is what they are called) off Strickland Road, same shopping center as Lowes Food and Salsa Fresh.
