Stonewood in Cary @ Preston is closed. I was shocked because we have been going there over the years and always enjoyed the food. I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened.

Nooooo!!! Haven't been there in a while, but really liked the place.

Always thought it was odd that they had like 15 locations in Florida and then the Cary location...don't know whether it was franchised or all company-owned. No idea what happened there, but I'll miss it.

Edit: From the Cary location page:

I heard that it was under new ownership & the menu had changed.

Several friends of mine were not happy with the new menu & never went back. Maybe others were not happy as well.....thus explaining why it may have closed.

We drove by a week ago Saturday....early evening and it was dark. I told my husband I had a feeeling they'd closed. I have to say, we used to really enjoy dinner there about once a month but the last 2 times we were there, it was really sub-par.

I never liked the Stonewood Grill in Raleigh on Falls of Neuse, and that place closed. Not great food and slow service. Seemed like something I could get for less.

Thats just because it's new. Me, DW and DD have tried to eat at Mellow Mushroom 3 times since it opened. Every time it has been AT LEAST and hour wait.

Cary does need a new, not Ruth Chris, but nice steakhouse.
