I grew up in Garner and have lived in Clayton for 21 years. Both are small towns near Smithfield. I personally wouldn't want to live in Smithfield if I had a choice.

Smithfield has RR tracks that set distinctive sides to the small town. The Diner does make some fabulous food!

I have been told by multiple people including medical and emergency service providors to under no circumstance allow any family members to be transported to Johnston County Hospital in Smithfield. The standard recommendation is to be transported to one of the Wake/Raleigh facilities.

As mentioned the diner is great and there are many old time traditional reminders of North Carolina for you.

Hmmmm...I have heard the same thing - REPEATEDLY - about the hospital in Dunn (near Smithfield).
