300 fresh tortillas are easy to find in Durham. La Superior supermarket has a machine that cranks out that many in less than ten minutes.

Ucctgg, I knew of the places in Durham! Jealous!

Actually, my friend ended up finding a place in Garner, at the split? Didn't find the name. I live near Chubby's ....not sure they are set up to do that number. But they are good, although I don't think very authentic.

thanks!

The place by wallmart on new hope has pretty good corn tortillas made on site. They are charging a dollar a pound. The guy/owner said they are planning on having the full resturaunt up and running in about 3 months.

I have heard of and just found a place in South Raleigh. El Toro, corner of Junction Blvd and Tryon Road. They are in a cooler next to the hot food counter. Hot to the touch when you take them out of the cooler. Towards the Wilmington Street end of Tryon Road. They could easily have filled that order of 300.

There's a place in that shopping center on the corner of Maynard and Chatham. Don't know the name but it says tortillaria on the window.

Does anyone know if the Mexican bakery on the corner of Kildaire and Maynard (by Los Tres Magueyes and Food Lion) sells fresh tortillas or are they shipped in?

As fate would have it, I was in there on Sunday (just to browse). I don't know for sure, but it looks like they are more into the pastries than the tortillas. (Damn good looking Pastries and Bolilla's, I might add.)

I was not looking for it, but I did not see evidence of tortilla making. Might want to ask?
