I have some temporary housing set up for Clayton,NC which puts me over by Raleigh/Cary. How does this compare to western NC like Charlotte? My main concern is traffic and population congestion. From a small town Shrewsbury, MA and would like to relocate to a similar area. I've never liked Boston, always felt suffocated and crowded. I'm worried that will happen in Charlotte/Raleigh. I would like to keep the congestion to a minimum like Worcester, MA if anyone can relate?

Well Charlotte is alot more congestion then Raleigh!! I live in Charlotte right now traffic is crazy im also planning on moving to Raleigh!! Charlotte is a little more of a party city!! Raleigh is more of a family city and it has alot of culture!! Raleigh to me has alot more highways. I dont know if your a laid back person if so Raleigh is great area!! Charlotte is ok but Raleigh is better!!

Neither, obviously, is a small town. You would probably do well to consider outlying towns in either area if your work location/commute allow it.
