What is the area east of Clayton in Johnston County called? Are there any existing smaller towns that I do not see on the state map? We are considering building on several acres out there. What would the average land price be? Availability of such? (Relatively close to Hwy 42)
Thanks so much!

N of 42 you have Wendell. If you head E on 70 you go through Wilsons Mills, then Smithfield/Selma, and then Princeton, Goldsboro. The best thing to do would be to get an Atlas at the bookstore, and that will give you more detailed maps of all NC.

Let's start a thread for land in the route 55 part of Cary. My mom has 17 acres next to the Cary Tennis Center and Green Hope schools. I can post a scan of the site, if there is enough interest. I would prefer to live in Cary with a short commute and spend the extra time at Jordan Lake or on the tennis court than doing a 3-hour commute each day to outer Johnston Co.

You realize this thread is almost five years old? I doubt the OP is still looking for a place to live.

The guy has probably bought, built and sold by now because it was too far out.
