I need a few smaller electric jobs done around my house and am clueless as to who to call. Here is what I need/want done:

Fix a light switch in a bedroom...very touchy with allowing you to actually turn on the light

Re-connect a smoke detector in master bedroom

Install motion sensor light in my backyard

Possibly install digital/programmable thermostats (one upstairs and one downstairs)

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Some of those are very easy to do. Have you tried googling first on how to do it? The thermostats are super super easy. The motion sensor lights can be bought solar powered and mount anywhere so that is easy as well.

The powers that be require anyone that does electrical work (other than the homeowner) to be licensed. The NC State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors is quite vigilant in going after people that are not licensed. Most municipalities require a building permit for any electrical work that is not considered a repair. I was licensed and did part-time electrical work for awhile, but the hassles far outweighed the extra dollars so I stopped.

Thanks but I do not have the time nor the want to do it myself. I was hoping to find a referral for someone to do it for me.
