Thanks for the links, AutumnGal!

It's interesting to see that Durham is ranked #3 in the "small markets" category while "Raleigh-Cary" ranked #3 in the "medium markets" category. I'd love to know how they decide to draw the geographical lines for these surveys. Think it's done by county?

That's probably an accurate guess, although many times I see surveys that couple Chapel Hill with Durham (Chapel Hill is in Orange County), as well as Cary with Raleigh. So it's hard to say - everyone has a different definition of what makes up a particular statistical area, it seems.

Default Still though

Still, though, it's nice to Durham that high. Imagine where we'd be if we really got our act together w/the public schools in Durham?

All-in-all, Durham is far better than many other locals give it credit for.

I agree. I still think we need to target the removal of some of the higher elected officials for replacement so that the city can move forward in a more efficient manner, but Durham is coming around. It's been great fun getting to know everyone here too. Housing prices can't be beat either.

Oh, I definitely agree, Mike. I love living in Durham and it definitely deserves praise like this. It's proof that Durham has truly earned this sort of recognition instead of just piggy-backing on the success of other towns.
