Their official grand opening is today at 6:14pm. They have a bunch of pictures posted to thei flickr photo album (http://www.flickr.com/photos/popthecap/ - broken link) and I have to say the place looks pretty cool. Can't wait to try their beer!

Yeah. I like the picture title too. . . "Organ Meat".

Reminds me of the old joke. . .

What's better than roses on your piano?
Tulips on your organ.

The wife and I are hoping to stop by tonight, since we missed all the local tastings they did in the past 2 weeks while we where in Hawaii.

On a related note, I just went over to Lonerider and they are really expanding. At least 3 huge new fermenters and a new glycol unit being installed outside. I'm so glad to see these businesses doing well in the Triangle.

I don't know anything about beer since I don't drink it, but if my boyfriend likes Samuel Adams. Do you think he would like any beers at Fullsteam? He also like Guinness and Heineken.

Sounds like your boyfriend is ready to make that jump. I started out with Sam Adams, Guinness, and Paulaner Hefeweizen some 15 years ago. Now my favorite beers are ones with names like "Dragons' Milk". It's a disease.

Tell him to try Full Steam's "Carolina Common". It will be amber in color, a little bit bitter, with a hint of mint in the aroma from the Northern Brewer hops. It is Full Steam's answer to Anchor Steam. From their website, it looks like they will also be making a stout "Moonpie Stout", which would be similar to Guinness, but not as roasty and dry --- probably sweeter than Guinness. Thank God they will not be making anything similar to Heineken. If he wants something light, try their "El Toro Cream Ale" or "Your Lightest Beer".

Typing as I sit here enjoying a Lonerider Peacemaker Pale Ale

LOL, I guess it really isn't his favorite, just his "go to" cheap beer I guess.

Thanks so much for the suggestions!
