I have just been reading and researching about the Montessori method while thinking about the type of learning environment that will be the best fit for my children. I have a 2yo and a 10mo. I myself have a BS and MA in elementary and reading education, respectively, and have worked in the WCPSS for 7 years, so I am very familiar with the public system, but have no experience with Montessori at any level. We have currently enrolled our 2yo son in our church's 1/2 day, 2 day per week preschool for the fall, but now I am thinking it isn't the best fit for him and want to consider other options. Can anyone please talk to me about Montessori schools in the Cary, Apex, or Holly Springs area since we live where these three areas come together, and also tell whether the schools are "truly" Montessori in their approach? Also, if you or your child has been in a Montessori school (in the area or not), could you talk to me about the quality of education (life skills, knowledge, social skills, etc.) received? Thanks!
