About a week ago I noticed a sailboat had washed up on the rocks at Live Oak Point , the new county park on the north end of the 41 bridge. Then today I noticed it's still there. Someone had tied a line from its stern to one of the new S.S. railing (I'm sure the intentions were good) but now it's even starting to bend the railing.
I stopped at the park and was going to retie the line to the base of the railing in order to prevent it from being bent but the line is too tight. Hopefully the county get the boat removed before it damages the railing permanently.

and on Saturday when it was really windy, there was that old blue and white boat that is usually anchored off shore there, had broken loose and was banging up and down on the rocks at that same park..

Have noticed that the black boat that was anchored usually inland of the bridge has been moved somewhere else.

I wonder if the city/county is cracking down on boats anchored long-term instead of using the mooring field?

Don't know who's responsibilty it is for the derelict boats but we went up to the Elks club by boat yesterday and there was not one boat anchored at the city mooring area on the Punta Gorda side. Guess it's to rough and the cost involved.
