Just looking for some feedback on flooring for Florida's humid climate. I currently have tile (different type in just about every room) and am looking to replace as I want a more uniform look. I know that engineered is probably the best bet but just wanted to get some opinions, thanks!

Tile is still your best bet. That new tile which looks like hardwood is really great looking.

Definitely tile in the bathrooms, but we're about halfway through redoing most of the house in the new engineered vinyl planks. Our knees are thanking us already.

I just remodeled and used a new tile in wet areas, kitchen and bathrooms and have installed engineered hardwood in the living spaces. We chose a glue down application using the glue designed as a vapor barrier. Basically, its really sticky rubber.
The floors look great and was fairly straight forward to install. My only issue with laminates is the wear times. Seems every home I inspect the laminate floors were damaged and or showed extreme wear. Tile seems to hold up best and engineered hardwoods seem to hold up very well.

Your flooring looks beautiful! I really like the warmth of wood but didn't know how it held up in the humidity. I guess with air conditioning it's not an issue. Thanks for the feedback!

Id say preparation is everything. We are not done but 85% there. Am enjoying the hardwoods. You can float the engineered floors also like a laminate but we wanted the solid feel of the glue down. Cant speak to the longevity of the flooring but we are not the first and its what engineered flooring was designed for. Good Luck on your remodel.

Saw the 'hardwood' tile at HD last week. It is a very interesting alternative to HW...

Be very careful if you buy that type of tile to install. It has to be laid perfect to create the illusion of hardwood. Purchased just that type to have installed in my mothers room addition and even with new poured concrete floors it took Taz tile and marble installers a week to lay a 12 x 32 room. Now after a week it was perfect however. Every line has to be straight and every space as to be even and each tile cannot vary from the other. They used a square and level on every tile layed. It was fascinating to watch that type of craftsmanship but I was glad I got them to do the project.
