Mine is updated on google search's maps, no need to install Google Earth to see (although I have it). Google your zip code and click on the map, then just click on the Google Earth icon in the lower left once the street map is up. Not sure how I like the whole 3D tree thing. Looks late 2014 as others said.

What's weird is that the trees and bushes look like they've been digitized.
Almost cartoonish.

looking at the maps as you said I see my old boat is still on the lift so it before 10/13/14 I get the straight down view but id like the birds eye angle so I tried downloading google earth but I get a error trying to open

From what I understand it is a privacy enhancement of sorts. The previous image quality and ability to zoom in was apparently too good and deemed too invasive.

You can get the birds eye angle by clicking on what looks like 4 small squares, right under the round rotate (compass) button on the right.

Mine has been updated too....we are in IslandWalk, and previously out street didn't even show up on Google Earth. Now it shows our street and all the houses which have been built up to about last January.
