Wow! Guess they would rather not to have been paid for the missed toll.

Hopefully the toll taker will take his former employer to court, and be awarded a bundle! If he didn't charge someone it is one thing, but actually PAYING for a toll from his own money is very different. Telling an employee what they can and can't buy is beyond the scope of an employer.

Its been huge down here on the Tv and facebook, much as it sounded VERY bad, the true story is coming out and he had already asked to cut his hours , then wouldn't agree to abide by the rules...which were petty

the CEO was getting some severe abuse

There is always 2 sides to the story! Typical of media to report factless information initially!

read on a few blogs who are commenting on the story (and reposting it) that supposedly the head honcho of the local bridge authority is a real putz, a retired naval officer, and wants to be treated like he's a king on "his" private bridge (which also intentionally keeps out the riff raff) by everyone. plus a former employee commented about a couple of nasty women who work backoffice there and enjoy the processing & keeping the leftover $ (for the authority's benefit) of the bridge pass for those who don't use it up before expiration.

always 2 sides to a story.....

regardless of the circumstances (or the truth for that matter), for someone who seems to be so well liked and enjoyed his job for almost 3 decades, esp. as a senior citizen, how he was let go just seems wrong.

will be interesting to see the fallout. stones in glass houses and all that....
