Very few kids play outside in this day and age of technology! Too busy with their faces buried in video games, it's a dam shame!

You all bring up great points and definitely things that I need to consider/reconsider. The advise on a realtor is spot-on. My only issue is that I will not find out until next week if we are going to Sanford or Port Charlotte and I do not want to waste his/her time (I think is is 60% PC and 40% Sanford).

Thank you all for the feedback and anymore is well appreciated!

Have an great weekend everyone.
If or when you hook up with a realtor and if you look at Punta Gorda make sure you do not limit the realtor to PGI which is Punta Gorda Isles and a neighborhood in Punta Gorda. BSI or Burnt Store Isles is another canal front neighborhood in Punta Gorda that is smaller but similar to PGI and located further out of town on 41 near Jones Loop Rd.

Also in ref. to the commute you are willing to take on, consider this. For whatever reason Florida police do not clear up accident scenes as quickly as many of us are used to in our home states. It can be unreasonable sometimes with traffic at a dead stop for a long time.

I have 1 child going to Deep Creek elementary and 1 in Charlotte High. So far I am happy with the schools. Punta Gorda Middle school I have no complaints with either. I am happy with the Deep Creek/Harbor Heights area as it is convenient to I75 and SWFL airport. Some folks moan and groan about Deep Creek, but I really like it. I only have anecdotal experience with the PC schools so I will not say anything regarding them.

Been here 4 years and love it. Just take the time to look around first and get the feel of how far various places are from your points of interest
