We have a great Garlic Festival here in the Hudson Valley that we usually go to for some good food and garlic bulbs to plant. The only ones I see in Florida are on the east coast in Delray and Vero Beach areas.

Anyone know of any on the Gulf side?

I gave up looking when I discovered that garlic and onions were the major cause of my gastric distress over the past 5 years - done in by galactooligosaccharides. The Gilroy garlic festival in NorCal was our favorite, but I don't think I could stand to go and just look - the aroma would drive me nuts. Hope you find one.

The festival in Gilroy, CA was amazing. Remember the garlic ice cream?

Yeah, the garlic ice cream is actually really good! Here's a link to our festival. I think they usually pull in 60,000 for the weekend. (That's just a WAG) Hudson Valley Garlic Festival

I think I'm sucking wind trying to find one on the gulf coast from the looks of it.

Edit: But the weather is always sunny and warm in Florida...

I could be wrong but I don't think garlic is grown this far south commercially. When you think of Florida fruits and vegetables you don't think of anything that grows below the surface.

They grow it in Mexico....? I bought some from Mex. in Publix when we were there. Guess I'll make some raised beds and give it a go in a year or so.

Seems strange that they'd have Garlic Festivals on the east coast of Fla and not the west coast but maybe I'm trying to make too much sense.

Just kiddin' MG.
