Do work, record the games prior to going to work, then when you get home from work, watch them.

Cbs is streaming the Broncos game live free on their website, not sure if they will for the Panthers

I think you can login and watch FOX live from your browser if you input your cable provider login info. I could do that this year to watch SNF/MNF on NBC/ESPN. Couldn't do it for CBS for TNF.

I don't recommend the DVR strategy. The last time I did that was the Ravens SB (I was watching it live too, but not at home). Of course I ended up not recording enough because of the blackout, so the recording was pretty silly.

To me recording and watching it later blows away trying to watch while distracted at work on a tiny screen. If the blackout caused you to miss the end then you didn't do the obvious, add as much time to the end as your box will allow.

The Super Bowl is carried by CBS. CBS always seems to stream their games via cbssports.com. Could not be any easier.

The Broncos game was also available via cbssports.com.

Now how did my laptop wake up, from sleep, at 3am and start playing the Broncos game?

I didn't miss the end, I was watching it live at a party. I just didn't have the recording of the end to enjoy the victory later.

I get it. But you discouraged someone from doing the DVR view because you didn't do one very simple thing: add time to the end. There's nothing wrong with the DVR viewing strategy provided you don't omit this very important part. Heck we DVR every single game, including my team's playoff game this year, on DVR and start it late so we can skip the commercials and halftime.

Oh yeah, ok. Well I think I ended up adding some extra time to the recording. But I didn't anticipate it going over by an hour or whatever it was.

The real reason I don't like the DVR route is it's just too hard not to look up who won, or even hear about it via SMS, facebook, all that. Plus if you work all day, you probably won't have the energy to watch 7 hours of football after work. Call it 5 without commercials. Especially if you have to work on Monday morning as well.
