A Big Hello to Everyone !!
We are planning to move to Portland next march. We have 2 kids aged 3 and 6. Hubby is going to join Intel. I would like to what are the good school districts there? Is Beaverton a good area to reside? What are the other options?

Thanks!
Cheers!
Ramya.

Intel is in Hillsboro.

Your best bet is to buy or rent in Beaverton, Hillsboro or NW Portland (97229). I would recommend the last one in terms of schools. I suggest that your look at Westview high school and the elementary schools that feed into it. I have heard that Findley/Bethany/Wismer/Forest Park are pretty good.

Lookup: GreatSchools - Public and Private School Ratings, Reviews and Parent Community for school ratings.

Beaverton is ok, but you have to watch out for the neighborhood. Murray hill is a good area, but your commute would be long.

Beyond the schools you will also want to join OMSI - they have a great area for small children. The Children's Museum and the Zoo are good too but I think better for children a little older than yours.

I don't know if Tualitan Valley Parks and Recreation will overlap with your school choice but you might want to explore their service area as you map out your home search.
