My husband and I are celebrating our 8 yr. anniversary. We have only been in the Portland are for a couple of months. Any suggestions for a nice night out. Looking for a romantic setting and good food. ( not too stuffy).

Pazzo Ristorante at 3rd & Washington downtown is great. A little stuffy in the decor, but the food is great, the staff wonderful, it's fairly private and the dessert is phenomenal.

Red face Heathman

We really enjoyed the Heathman when we visited Portland. Amazing food, service, and ambience.

Fenouil is excellent. If it is chilly out, the fireplaces are nice and cozy. If it is warm out, they open the big bay doors and you can enjoy the warmth and sun, and watch people in Jamison Square. Great food and service as well.

Il Piatto at 2348 SE Ankeny is romantic and delicious! I also love Caffe Mingo on NW 21st.

Default Genoa is awesome

Genoa is a Portland institution. They specialize in five and seven course dnners with a new menu daily. Genoa is one of Portland's best. It's on SE Belmont. Guaranteed to please.

My two favorite restaurants for atmosphere are Cassidy's and Mummy's ... both downtown.

Hi, msheiny. This has nothing to do w/ this thread, but I've seen your posts on the west linn threads. We (me, husband, son (7) and daughter (9) will be moving to the portland area in mid-June. We have been living in London for the past two years, but are originally from boston. I am going out Monday the 24th of March to get a house! Agh! We checked out parts over xmas, but the weather was horrible and didn't have a lot of time.

Anyway, are you happy you chose west linn? I am looking there and in NW portland and want so badly to make the right decision. Any opinions you have about west linn (good & bad) would be greatly appreciated. The clock is ticking.
Thanks so much and I hope you had or will have a wonderful dinner!
