^ Oh, thats just so much bull****. Our summers are about 4 months long and the skies are quite blue. We have much better weather than Seattle, too...

its been sunny almost for a week here. How many (northern) places in the US have had sunny weather in the middle of november?

On Monday, there were 50 mph winds and it rained all day. Sweet!

Yeah and it's November. What about yesterday? Yesterday was beautiful and sunny but you're still stuck on Monday? What about today? Today is also sunny. Some people need to get a life.

The original poster of the article didn't bother to look much up. Mountain biking, for instance:

Portland Area Mountain Biking - Mountain Bike Trails

You can certainly make yourself miserable anywhere you go, and it sounds like he really worked at it.

You call today sunny? LOL!!! It's cold and grey and no blue sky just as he said.

To Portlanders, it's sunny whenever it's not raining. Where's the sun?

Oh yea...and it will be dark by 4:30.

Enjoy!

Mountain bikers want awesome single track dirt trails not gravel roads and firelanes.

Have you ever ridden a mountain bike?

LOL!!

Default grow up

I'm not fond of Portland right now for my own reasons, but all of us are better served by sticking to the topic at hand. How much do YOU weigh, Blazen? I'll assume from your post that you have narcissitic tendencies and have trouble contemplating anything more than your own six-pack. Grow up!

There IS single track up in Forest Park. Go up the road from Fat Tire on Thurman (my home store).

Have you ever heard of a common thing called manners?

You obviously don't get up very early because it was sunny this morning. It's not unusual, no matter where you are, to have a day with mixed clouds and sun. The point is that you can sit around and obsess over negative things or you can appreciate what Portland has to offer. The link/info you provided was inaccurate at best. Pop on over to the sunshine thread and read up on Vitamin D. Perhaps it would help you.

Or, better yet, move to Arizona if you want 365 days of sun. Why do people move here who want to live in a hot sunny climate? It never ceases to amaze me.

And by the way, getting dark at 4:30 in the winter isn't unique to Portland. Whenever you get a certain distance from the equator you have different amounts of dark and light depending on the season/your location. It gets dark at 4:30/5 for a few months of the year for the same reason it says LIGHT in the summer until 10PM. Why this is supposed to be a major fault of the Portland area when tons of other cities in the US also have this same seasonal pattern is beyond me.
