You realize those are both middle schools, not hight schools, right?

Rosemont and Athey will have the same result in the end. Neither group of kids has an advantage when they enter HS. I was in the first class to graduate from Rosemont, and I personally hated the place because they felt a need to discipline for everything. Any trivial issue and the teacher was required to write a report on whatever poor child couldn't sit still. My sister goes there now, and aside from the fact that I really don't care for her choice in friends, it seem to have improved as a school.

A friend of mine did research on Portland HS, and found that Lincoln downtown was where the best and brightest went. Her son now on east coast in Ivy League university. So maybe it is!

And impossible to get in unless you live in the boundaries, which we currently do, but as my child is five....it's a LONG way away!

Yes, I mentioned elsewhere that she had to sell her home, moved into an apartment in SW (Vista) to get her son in there. So was a sacrifice on her part that way, but she was so happy he was accepted. Also had very high grades, not sure what all the other qualifiations were.
