Here are a few pictures of Portland I took today. There's more on my Flickr, but I don't know if I'm allowed to link to it on here ().

Not from today, but here's the Eastland:

lookinforahome, you made my day. I am so homesick for Portland, and these pictures are just what the doctor ordered.

Here are a few more from that day. Hope to get over there maybe this weekend and shoot some better ones outside of the car! I don't really like most of these because I just took them on the way through without much though but...

I actually like this one..shows Unity Village, Pearl Place, Time and Temperature Building...

The first one was taken from right next to the new Intermed building along Marginal Way. The second is up near Munjoy Hill in the Eastern Prom. I think I took that one with too much zoom for my little camera . So I will have to get up there with a better one and get a good picture.

Nice pics. I like the rowhomes near the corner of Brackett and Danforth. They remind me of Charleston SC and Savannah a bit... not quite like a typical New England Rowhouse.

Also, What are they doing in the last picture? It looks like Bulfeeney's? just window washing?

I can tell you that as someone who lives in the area, I HATE Maine Medical Center... it was built with complete disregard for the surroundings as it looks like a fortress walling itself off from those on Congress Street and around St. John. It looks imposing because it's built onto a hillside, but it just looks so wildly out of scale.

Anyway, excellent pictures. I always enjoy seeing your photos.

Thanks much Irfox. Yea I was wondering what they were doing in that picture as well (with the window). It looks like the window was broken or something? Anyway, I agree that MMC is an odd placement. It's like an anthill. I'm always impressed with the parking garage there, though.
