Good morning CityData-ers :-)

I just moved to PSL from Ft Lauderdale. In Broward and Miami-Dade there are a lot of family-owned furniture stores that usually have better prices than the big name stores (Ashley, Rooms to Go, et al...).

Are there any such places in the PSL area that you all would reccomend? I have a whole house to furnish, so the more i could save the better.

Thanks

Badcock maybe. But I like Ashley- more bang for the buck. I wouldn't buy rooms to gone for anything. They sell junk IMO..

Thanx. I'll take a look at them. Seems like those are the best in the area w/out renting a truck and bringing furniture up from the miami/broward dealers.

I did not reply yesterday hoping someone might mention the furniture stores in Martin County and remember their names (which I don't : ( ). There are several non-chain furniture stores there but the two I am thinking of are south of the Roosevelt Bridge on US 1 (the east side). One is near, possibly just behind, the Amish furniture place on US 1. The other is in a huge orange warehouse either in far south Stuart or north Hobe Sound (again on the east side of US 1). There is also a furniture store in B&A Flea Market (also in south Stuart, east side of US 1). I thought they had decent prices and a more eclectic selection in some cases.

By the way you didn't ask about floors and I don't know if you have carpet, tile, wood, etc., but the Bargain Rug Depot attached to the Flea Market is really good. A wide variety of choice and a variety of price ranges. Good value...it's not chintzy, it's a good balance of quality and price. I still go there for rugs sometimes even though I've moved to Tampa.
