In our search for a new life we went to Vero and what we saw we really liked. It had a small town feel. It was very beachy and seemed upscale by the beaches. We were mainly on the island and saw many shops and tourists. It seems to be a nice place to settle if you want to live on the east coast. The housing seems affordable and there does not seem to be pressure to keep up with the "jones". The only negative I could see is that there didnt seem to be alot to choose from as far as restaurants and shopping go. I am aso not sure where people would work. I am a property manager and my husband owns a local sign shop here in Sarasota. We would probably try to open or buy another sign shop in Vero. Anyway hope this helps anyone else looking at Vero!

you may wanna contact the Indian River County chamber of commerce. They are locate in Vero Beach as well. check out their internet site. It's a very resourceful organization.
just a note: the insurrance issue in FL is little bit hectic. thinking to buy a home? choose a new home a few miles from the coast.(Just my opinion)
if you need more info send me a PV.
Regards,

We have lived in Vero Beach(actually right near Sebastian High School) and been here 18 months and we love it....the little town feel especially in Sebastian.

The top 3 Indian River County Employers are:
Indian River County
Indian River School District and
Indian RIver Medical Center!

There is a lot of places to eat here - you just have to look!!! All the small places seem to do well here. Shopping there is the Mall of course and the Outlt Mall but you have Melbourne which is half an hours drive away and Cocoa Beach a little further north then of course PSL if you go south.

We are very happy with our choice to live here, especially as we live 10 minutes or so from the beach or the causeway!!
