Subjecting kids to weirdos undermines standards of decency
First-graders should not be forced into the classrooms of teachers undergoing sex changes. Religious broadcasters and faith-based summer camps should not be forced to hire cross-dressers. Women should not be forced to share bathrooms with people with male body parts who say they want to be females. Yet those are some of the likely results if Congress passes H.R. 3017, the so-called Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which is due for a vote this week by the House Education and Labor Committee.

Speaking of "weirdos", isn't the Washington Times the same Rightwing rag that's owned by the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, the cult-leader of the "Moonies" (& several sex scandals), who says things like, "Even Nobel laureate academics who thought they were at the center of knowledge, are as nothing in front of me"..... ?
Mentally ill people should get treatment, and not be enabled.
I lean toward agreeing with you. As long as the American Psychiatric Association calls transgenderism "gender identity disorder", I don't think it's right for Congress to put them in the same category as homosexuals. With that said, I don't believe the Times should call someone with a mental problem a "weirdo". It's unprofessional and crass.

Uh yeah. It is. I thought you were kidding. The Washington Times is a daily broadsheetnewspaper published in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. It was founded in 1982 by Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon, and has been subsidized by the Unification Church community. The Times is known for its conservative stance on social and political issues.

Sun Myung Moon and Rupert Murdoch...two foreigners telling the American "patriotic" wingnuts what to think.....what irony.
Pandering 101: Find someone who is different, tell them how special they are, elevate them to Requires Special Treatment Status, and craft a law that reinforces that you love them, that we as a nation are really One Big Group Hug, and that it will all be A-OK.
And then remind them that you are a Democrat and campaign donations can be forwarded to this address:
