Devastating poll for the party in charge of Washington. Great opportunity for the party of "no".

Distrust, Discontent, Anger and Partisan Rancor: Overview - Pew Research Center for the People & the Press

Quote:
A new Pew Research Center survey finds a perfect storm of conditions associated with distrust of government – a dismal economy, an unhappy public, bitter partisan-based backlash, and epic discontent with Congress and elected officials.

Rather than an activist government to deal with the nation’s top problems, the public now wants government reformed and growing numbers want its power curtailed.
One third of Americans say own govt a threat: Poll - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100419/ts_alt_afp/uspoliticsgovernmentpoll_20100419143605 - broken link)

Quote:
Just 19 percent say they are "basically content" with the federal government, against 56 percent who say they are "frustrated" and 21 percent who describe themselves as "angry," the Pew Research Center survey found.

When Obama took office in January 2009, 62 percent of Americans said they viewed Democrats favorably, against just 40 percent for Republicans -- and the president's party now only has a 38 percent-37 percent edge over his critics.
washingtonpost.com (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/19/AR2010041900117.html - broken link)

Quote:
Nearly 80 percent of Americans say they do not trust the U.S. government to do what is right, expressing the highest level of distrust in Washington in half a century, according to a public opinion survey.
Quote:
About 25 percent had a favorable opinion of Congress, the lowest in 25 years of surveying, and less than half (40%) said the Obama administration was doing an excellent or good job, Pew said.
But, but, but.....what happened to the "bump" from passing obamacare?

This is going to be a hard one for the left wingers, you know those hard core hussein obama sheep. If you get these kind of numbers that means Democrats also do not trust this administration.

Wait, you conveniently left out this part:

Quote:
Trust in government is typically higher among members of the party that controls the White House than among members of the “out” party. However, Republicans’ views of government change more dramatically, depending on which party holds power, than do Democrats’. Republicans are more trusting of government when the GOP holds power than Democrats are when the Democrats are in charge.

The government still has the Coffee Party's support. Or did they disband already, you never hear them doing anything?

I love that.

I need to say it again-

"Debt-o-crats"

"Debtbaggers"

It has a nice ring to it, and reveals the ugly truth.

This actually makes me happy. Regardless of political affiliation, I believe everyone should not trust politicians. That's why they govern by the consent of the governed. Americans are naturally pessimistic of Washington.
